Mitzic [1] ( fr. Mitzic ) is a town in the province of Vole-Ntem , in the northern part of the country, located 240 km east of the capital Libreville . The administrative center of the Okano department. Mitsik is located at an altitude of 583 meters above sea level. The city is of historical importance due to the Gabon operation that started from here: in October 1940, Free French troops from Cameroon took Mitzic, with the result that Vichy France began to lose control over Gabon [2] .
