The inheritance of the princely title of Thurn-i-Taxis

Albert II (born 1983), 12th Prince ( Fürst ) Thurn-i-Taxis (since 1990)

The order of inheritance of the princely title in the house of Thurn-i-Taxis is regulated by agnatic primogenesis or salic law . Women are excluded from the line of succession.

Currently, there are several lines of the princely dynasty, descended from Alexander Ferdinand (1704-1773), the 3rd Prince Turn-i-Taxis (1739-1773).

The current head of the princely house is Prince Albert II (born 1983), the 12th prince (fürst) of Thurn-i-Taxis (since 1990), the only son of Prince Johann (1926-1990), the 11th prince of Thurn-i- Taxis (1982-1990) ^[1] . Now Albert II has no children, and, therefore, his relatives are in the line of succession. The order of inheritance of the title is as follows:

• His Serene Highness Prince Max Emanuel von Thurn und Taxis (born September 7, 1935) ^[1] , the only son of Prince Rafael Rainer Thurn-i-Taxis (1906-1993), sixth son of Prince Albert, 8th Prince Thurn-and-Taxis (1867-1952)
• His Serene Highness Prince Albrecht von Thurn und Taxis (born July 5, 1930) ^[1] , the only son of Prince Philip Ernst Thurn-i-Taxis (1908-1964), the youngest son of Prince Albert, 8th Prince Thurn-i-Taxis ( 1867-1952)
• His Grace, Prince Friedrich von Thurn und Taxis (born June 22, 1950) ^[1] , the second son of Prince Johann of Nepomuk Thurn i Taxis (1908-1959)
• His Highness Prince Karl Ferdinand von Thurn und Taxis (born April 13, 1952) ^[1] , the third son of Prince Johann of Nepomuk Thurn i Taxis (1908-1959), the younger brother of the previous
• His lordship, Prince Maximilian von Thurn und Taxis (born June 22, 1955) ^[1] , the fourth (youngest) son of Prince Johann of Nepomuk Thurn-i-Taxis (1908-1959), the younger brother of the previous one.
