Svetlana Pavlovna Pleskach-Styrkina (born January 1, 1949 ) is a Soviet and Russian athlete specializing in middle-distance running . USSR master of sports of international class . Participant in the 1976 Summer Olympics. Champion of the USSR in 1977 [1] , two-time champion of the USSR indoors (1977, 1979) [2] in 800 m race. Honored trainer of the USSR (1984).

Biography

Svetlana Pavlovna Moshchenok was born on January 1, 1949 in the village of Kuntsy, Mogilev region, Belorussian SSR, USSR [3] . In the 1950s, she and her parents Pavel and Ekaterina Moshchenok moved to the city of Stupino, Moscow Region. Started athletics in the 6th grade of the school. In 1966, she began training under the guidance of Yakov Isaakovich Elyanov [4] . In 1967, Svetlana became the first at the famous cross for the prize of the newspaper "Pravda" and received the title of master of sports. In 1971 she graduated from the Kolomna Pedagogical Institute.

After completing her sports career, Svetlana Pavlovna began to work as a coach in tandem with her mentor Yakov Isaakovich Yeljanov. Currently, Svetlana Pavlovna is a senior trainer and lecturer at the Moscow State Budget Institution “Athletics Training Center” [5] . Her most famous pupil is the two-time Olympic champion in 1996, the world champion in 1999 and the European champion in 1998 Svetlana Masterkova [6] [7] [8] [9] .

On August 12, 1994, she married for the second time — to retired colonel Alexei Timofeevich Pleskach.

Svetlana Pavlovna - member of the Presidium of the All-Russian Athletics Federation and the Moscow Athletics Federation [10] .

In 2009, the film " Distance " was shot, in which Tatyana Dogileva played Svetlana Pavlovna.
