Biography

Olga Ivanovna Dvirna was born on February 11, 1953 in the village of Vasyutintsy, Cherkasy region, Ukrainian SSR. She began to engage in athletics under the leadership of Anatoly Kolesnikov [1] . In 1970 she graduated from school number 2 in Gukovo. In 1988 she graduated from the pedagogical faculty of GDOIFK them. P.F. Lesgaft .

In 1972, at the USSR Championship, she fulfilled the standard of a master of sports. She trained under the leadership of Nikolai Malyshev , who led Olga to victory at the 1982 European Championship [2] [3] . From 1972 to 1984 she was a member of the USSR national team.

After graduating from a sports career, she became a track and field coach. She taught at the SBEI DOD “SDUSSHOR“ Academy of Athletics of St. Petersburg. ”Her best-known pupil is her own daughter, Ekaterina Kostetskaya , who specializes in short and medium distance running - a participant in two Olympics (2008, 2012) [4] [5] , two-time champion of Russia in 2011 (800 and 1500 m), two-time champion of Russia in the relay 4 × 400 m (2004, 2010) [6] .

Currently, Olga Ivanovna works as a head coach at the ProRunning running school in St. Petersburg [7] [8] .

In 2012, she was awarded the Prize of the Government of St. Petersburg "For achieving high sports results in official international and all-Russian competitions" [9] .

Personal life

Currently lives in St. Petersburg. After she married Alexander Kostetsky, she took his last name. There is a daughter - Ekaterina Kostetskaya (born 1986).
