History

On January 16, 1929, by a resolution of the Presidium of the Lower Volga Regional Executive Committee, Astrakhan was divided into 3 regions: Trusovsky, Elling, Boldinsko-Svobodinsky. In 1929, the latter was renamed Selensky; on September 24, 1931, by a resolution of the Presidium of the Astrakhan City Council, it was also renamed Mikoyanovsky, and the territory of the Elling District was transferred to the administrative subordination to the City Council. On May 22, 1936, in addition to Trusovsky and Mikoyanovsky, two new districts were created in the city by the resolution of the Plenum of the Astrakhan City Council: Kirovsky and Stalin at the expense of the territory previously subordinated to the City Council. On March 12, 1946, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR in Astrakhan, 2 more new districts were formed: Leninsky and Pervomaisky due to the disaggregation of the territory of the Kirov and Stalin regions. In 1948, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, the Pervomaisky District was liquidated in favor of the Stalin District, and in 1956, the Mikoyanovsky and Stalin Districts were liquidated and in 1959 - Leninsky, Kirovsky, Trusovsky. Thus, in 1959 - 1962 the city was not divided into districts. [five]

In 1962, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, regional division was again introduced in Astrakhan: on March 30, 1962, Trusovsky appeared, on July 12, 1962, Leninsky and Kirovsky, and on February 21, 1975, Soviet (due to part of the territory of the Kirov and Leninsky districts).
