The name of Jaldam is translated from Kazakh as hired [1] .
Geography
The Zhaldam river is formed by the confluence of the Achystasty (left component) and Karynsaldy (right component) rivers near the village of the same name Zhaldam [2] . It flows southwest in open areas past the villages of Amantogay and them. Abu Syzdykov . Below the village of Amangeldy, it merges with the Kara-Turgai river, forming the Turgai river. The length of the river is 63 km, the catchment area is 8370 km².
Food mainly snow and ground. The average annual flow rate is 2.06 m³ / s. There are several dams and a pumping station on the river.
