During the trial, the pious Terenty and Neonilla, together with the children, scolded the pagans and clearly spoke about their faith in Jesus Christ and his Resurrection, for which they were sentenced to death. Three times they tried to kill the family in various ways. The first time they were hung and planed, while their wounds were poured with vinegar and burned with fire. During the torture, the holy martyrs Terenty and Neonilla, as well as their children, humbly prayed and supported each other. In the life of the saints it is indicated that after a short time the soldiers saw that all members of the Christian family were free from fetters and their wounds from torture disappeared. The Roman soldiers were shocked and came up with a different way of killing for the family. All were thrown into the pit with wild animals, but the animals did not touch the Neonilla family. For the third time, the family was thrown into a cauldron of boiling resin, but this also did no harm to the pious family. Then the Roman soldiers beheaded all members of the family: first the father of the Terenty family, then Neonilla, and then all seven children. For the feat of suffering for the Christian faith and the humble acceptance of all torture and executions, they were numbered among the saints.
