Mate Binyamin

Mate Binyamin ( Hebrew מועצה אזורית מטה בנימין ) is a regional council in Israel, comprising 42 settlements and outposts in the south of Samaria (Shomron) on the West Bank . The administrative center of the council is Psagoth [2] . It is named after the ancient Jewish Tribe of Benjamin , whose traditional territory is occupied. The entire surrounding region is called the Binyamina region.

The Council has existed since 1980. In November 2007, was elected head of the council, replacing his predecessor , who held this post for 28 years [3] .
