The Rostovenergo building is an administrative building in Rostov-on-Don , which houses several large companies in the Rostov Region. Built in 1952 according to the project of architect L. L. Eberg [1] . It has the status of a cultural heritage object [2] of regional significance. Located at Bolshaya Sadovaya 49/42 .

History

On the site of the current building was previously a four-story building, which was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War . The current building " Rostovenergo " was built in 1952 during the post-war reconstruction of the city according to the project of the Rostov architect Lev Leonidovich Eberg [1] .

By the Decree of the Ministry of Culture of the Rostov Region dated December 14, 2015 No. 488, the Rostovenergo building was recognized as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance [3] . By the 2010s, the degree of depreciation of the building reached 35%, and therefore, in 2016, its restoration was started. It is planned to complete the work for the 2018 FIFA World Cup [2] .

Architecture

The Rostovenergo building is designed in the spirit of Soviet neoclassicism [2] . The design of the main and side facades traced the motives of the Italian Renaissance [1] . The corridor-shaped L-shaped building has 5 floors. The main and side facades to the height of two floors are decorated with large plaster rust . The central part of the main facade overlooking Bolshaya Sadovaya Street is distinguished by a false arcade with a height of two first floors, loggias on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors and topped with a step attic with a round dormer window . The loggias of the 3rd and 4th floors are flanked by pilasters , the loggia of the 5th floor with a protruding balcony is decorated with a portico with a central semicircular arch [1] .

The decoration used stucco and stucco decoration. Under the windows of the 2nd floor there are medallions with Soviet symbols. The windows of the 3rd floor are decorated with multi-profile platbands and castle stones [1] . The horizontal division of the facades is emphasized by a wide profiled draft [2] . The rounded corner of the building is crowned with a curved pediment with a stucco monogram [1] .

Location

The Rostovenergo building is located opposite the city administration building in the Leninsky district of Rostov-on-Don ( Bolshaya Sadovaya St., 49 / Semashko Lane , 42). You can get to the object by bus (No. 3, 33, 3a, 67, 7, 70, 80), a trolleybus (No. 1, 2, 22, 9) to the stop “Semashko (Bolshaya Sadovaya St.)”.
