Description

Numerous protrusions on the masticatory surface of the tooth found [2] [3] [4] allowed to assign the animal to the order of many-tuberous ones.

The primitive structure of the teeth of the canoebatyr brings it closer to the representatives of the multicuspid order from much earlier deposits - 145 million years ago [2] .

Etymology

Baidabatyr got its name for two reasons [2] [5] :

  • the first part of the canoe appeared due to the fact that the place of the first discovery of the animal’s tooth could only be reached by canoe;
  • the second part of the batyr (from the Mongolian hero ) appeared, proceeding from the tradition of calling new species of multi-tuberous Asian origin.
