Ilya Fedorovich Ofrosimov ( 1827 - 1892 ) - Russian general, head of the 10th cavalry division.

Biography
From the nobles . Born in 1827 and was the son of the Oryol provincial leader of the nobility, F. A. Afrosimov . In 1845, at the end of the course at the School of Guard Ensigns and Cavalry Junkers , he was promoted to cornet and appointed to the Life Guards of the Majesty Hussars regiment , in which he served for twenty years, moreover, he was promoted to colonel in 1861, and in 1864 appointed division commander. Appointed the following year as the commander of the 9th Bug Uhlansky regiment , Ofrosimov was promoted to major general in 1873, and then appointed commander of the 2nd brigade of the 5th cavalry division; then commanded the 10th cavalry division.
During the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. Ofrosimov was the head of the Yalta military department, and at the end of the war he was appointed head of the Chuguev military military hospital. Produced in 1883 as lieutenant general , he was enlisted in the army cavalry reserve. Ofrosimov was several times a provincial and county vowel in the Oryol provincial and Sevsky district zemstvos. In addition, he was an honorary magistrate of the Sevsky district of the Oryol province and the Dmitrievsky district of the Kursk province .
Ofrosimov was closely acquainted with the poet A. A. Fet ; Fet dedicated two poems to him and his daughter, Lydia Ilyinichna.
I.F. Ofrosimov died in Moscow on March 19 ( 31 ), 1892 . He was buried in his estate, the village of Bolshoy Krichino, Dmitrovsky district, Orel province.
