The story unfolds around a conspiracy against the eldest son of the emperor and the Lin family, whose head commands the army of Great Liang. They are charged with treason and sentenced to death. Lin Shu, the nineteen-year-old commander of one of the units, survives and hides in Jianghu , the world of fighters. Having accepted the personality of the scientist Mei Chansu, he establishes the Jiangzu alliance and arranges his affairs far from the court, preparing to take revenge. His badly damaged health makes him abandon physical methods and engage in the activities of a strategist. Twelve years later, he returned to the capital under an assumed name to intervene in the struggle of the emperor’s sons for the throne. He decides to support Prince Jing, once his best friend, who is not involved in political affairs. Prince Jing does not believe in accusations against the Lin family and wants to make excuses, but because of harsh speeches and actions, he is considered a disgraced prince and has virtually no power. Between him and the throne are the elder brothers - the crown prince, the son of a favorite of the emperor, and Prince Yu, raised by the empress. The longtime enemies of the Lin family, who prepared the plot, occupy high posts and interfere in court games, and the foreign policy situation is slowly but surely heating up.

May Chansu’s goal is to achieve justice, revenge and remain unrecognized, but many obstacles must be overcome before her execution.
