Myamalycocerus vitalii (lat.) Is a fossil species of soft beetles , the only one in the monotypic genus Myamalycocerus . Found in Burmese amber ( Southeast Asia , Myanmar , age about 100 million years; Cretaceous period ). Length about 6 mm. The body is brown with black elytra. Spherical eyes, protruding. Antennae 11-segmented, their length 3 mm. It resembles the view of Ornatomalthinus elvirae Poinar & Fanti , but differs in long elytra and relief points, which are more or less elevated, but more numerous. The species name was given in honor of the coleopterologist Francesco Vitali, a major specialist in fossil beetles of the Cerambycidae family [1] [2] .
