The islands ( Greek Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Νήσων ) are one of the peripheral units of Greece . It is a regional local government and part of the administrative division . According to the Kallikratis program, since 2011 it has been included in the periphery of Attica [2] . It includes part of the former Parchas nomarchy, the islands of Angistrion , Idra , Poros , Salamis , Spetses , Aegina in the Gulf of Saronikos , the islands of Andikitira and Kitira in the Ionian Sea and the community of Trisinia-Methana on the Peloponnese Peninsula .

The administrative center is the city of Salamis on the island of Salamis.
The population of the Islands is 74,651 inhabitants according to the 2011 census [1] , area - 878,965 square kilometers, density - 84.93 people per square kilometer [1] .
The islands are headed by the anti-periphery Hadziperos Panagiotis ( Χατζηπέρος Παναγιώτης ).
