Loweriella boltoni (lat.) Is a species of small ants of the subfamily Dolichoderina , the only one in the monotypic genus Loweriella . Endemic of the island of Kalimantan [2] .

Distribution

Southeast Asia : Sarawak , Brunei and Malaysia [3] .

Description

Small ants about 2-3 mm in size. Antennae 12-segmented. Palp formula: 6.4. Mandibles with numerous small denticles: from 9 to 12. Formula of spurs of tibia: 1.1 (simple). Eyes are developed. Antennal grooves and sting absent. Body color is tan [3] .

Systematics

The only species of the genus Loweriella Shattuck, 1992 from the tribe Bothriomyrmecini. Close to the genus Ravavy [3] [4] [5] [6] .
