The European Cup in Athletics All-Around 1996 was held June 15-16 at the Werreanger Stadium in German Lag . At the same time, a tournament in the First League was held in Tallinn in Estonia, and in the Second League in Latvian Riga . Participants fought for team victory in competitions of men and women.

Each team was represented by four athletes. In total, 64 multi-siders from 12 countries took to the start. The best teams in the team standings were determined by the sum of the results of the three best participants. Following the results of the competitions, the two worst teams lost the right to participate in the Super League for the next year.
