Story
Tommy and Tuppence Beresford drive to the Sun Mountains nursing home to visit Aunt Tommy, Hell. While Tommy is talking with Ada, Tuppence becomes interested in one of the Sun Mountains guests, Mrs. Lancaster. She says that in the living room, behind the fireplace, lies a dead child, and the cook of the "Solar Mountains" seems to Tuppence suspicious. After 6 weeks, Ada Beresford dies, and Mrs. Lancaster is allegedly taken by relatives. Miss Marple is interested in this matter.

Movie Differences from a Book
- Tommy is not connected to the investigation.
- Aunt Ada's surname changes from Fanshaw to Beresford.
- Nelly Bly becomes the vicar's wife. Also in the film is her murder.
- Dr. Murray, spouses Perry and Copley disappear from the plot.
- New characters have been added to the film: Miss Marple, Chris, the driver of Sir Philip, Eaton, a silly policeman, Rosie Waters, sister Lily.
- In the film, Ada Beresford, Nelly Bly and Lily Waters are killed, while in the book, a whole series of murders of children takes place. Also, according to the book, in the "Sunny Mountains" 4 old women are killed.
