Geographical position
Halkhan is located in the southeast of Badakhshan, in the highlands, in the left bank of the Vardudzh river valley, approximately 91 kilometers southeast of Faizabad , the administrative center of the province. The absolute height is 2606 meters above sea level [1] . The nearest populated areas are Zebak village, Navabad village.
Population
The language of the majority of the population of Khalkhan is Dari [2] .
Economy
The main branch of the economy is agriculture . The main crops grown in the surrounding fields are wheat and corn [2] .
