Geographical position
Huark is located in the northeast of Badakhshan, in the highlands, on the left bank of the Pyanj River , near the state border with Tajikistan , at a distance of approximately 118 kilometers east-southeast (ESE) from the city of Fayzabad , the administrative center of Vilayat. The absolute height is 2642 meters above sea level [1] . The nearest settlements are the village of Kishnihan (upstream of the Panj), the village of Kazideh (downstream of the Panj).
Population
As of 2003, the population was 369 people. The national composition is dominated by the Vakhans [2] .
