Copanatoyak ( Spanish: Copanatoyac ) is a municipality in Mexico , state of Guerrero , with the administrative center in the city of the same name . The population, according to the 2010 census, was 18,885 people.

Content
General Information
The name Copanatoyac from Nahuatl can be translated in two ways: dug in the river or go up the river [3] .
The area of the municipality is 307 km², which is 0.48% of the state area [4] . It borders with other municipalities of Guerrero : in the north with Tlapa de Comonfort , in the east with Halpatlauac , in the south with Malinaltepec and Tlacoapa , and in the west with Sapotitlan-Tablas and Atistac [3] .

According to 2000 statistics, the working population is employed by sector in the following proportions: agriculture, cattle breeding and fishing - 50.8%, industry and construction - 26.4%, services and tourism - 20% [4] .

According to the statistics of 2010, the infrastructure is developed as follows [4] :
