Biography
Paula Poundstone was born December 29, 1959 in Huntsville ( Alabama , USA ) in the family of engineer Jack Poundstone and housewife Vira Poundstone [2] . Her family moved to Sudbury , Massachusetts , about a month after her birth [3] . Poundston attended the Lincoln-Sadber Regional High School but left her before getting a diploma. She worked as a waitress and a .
Since the late 1980s, she has starred in a series of one-hour comedy shows on HBO . She interviewed behind the scenes during the 1992 presidential election in the talk show “ Tonight with Jay Leno ". Poundstone is a frequent contributor to the weekly quiz “ Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!” "On the National Public Radio and was a regular guest on the radio show" Prairie Companion "When the host of the show was Harrison Keylor .
Poundstone identifies himself as asexual [4] . In the 1990s, Poundstone became a foster parent, raised eight children and, ultimately, adopted three: two daughters - Toshiya and Allison (born 1991) - and son Thomas (born 1993) [5] [6] . In October 2001, Poundstone was found guilty of threatening the lives of minor children in connection with driving while intoxicated with children in a car. She was also charged with three cases of obscene acts against a child under the age of 14 [7] , but she reached an agreement on guilty pleas for probation and community service. Poundstone spoke about her personal responsibility for the events that led to her arrest and the steps she took, including a six-month treatment program for alcoholism [8] [9] .
