Biography
Tibor Hufnagel was born on March 18, 1991 in Budapest . He began to actively engage in rowing at the age of ten, trained with his brother-canoeist, but then decided to transfer to a kayak [1] .
He first made himself known back in 2009, winning two silver medals at the European Youth Championship in Moscow - alone at a thousand meters and in doubles at five hundred. In 2013, he added to the track record the gold obtained at the Youth World Championships in Welland in the kilometer discipline of doubles, and a year later at the similar competitions in Szeged he repeated this achievement.
He achieved his first serious success at the adult international level in the 2016 season, when he joined the main team of the Hungarian national team and attended the European Championship in Moscow , from where he brought the silver dignity, won with his partner Benze Dombvari in the classification of double kayaks at a distance of 1000 meters - in the finals at the finish line, only the German crew of Max Hoff and Marcus Gross passed them.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics . The four-seater crew, which also included rowers Tamas Shomorats , Benjamin Zeiner and Attila Kugler , started in the 1000 meter program - they successfully qualified at the preliminary stage, but then only reached the finish line at the semi-finals and reached the consolation final “B” ", Where they subsequently took third place. Thus, in the final protocol of the competitions, Hufnagel is in eleventh position. In doubles at a thousand meters paired with Zeiner he managed to break into the main final “A” and there he showed the seventh result at the finish [2] .
