The Government of the Republic of Kosovo ( Alb. Qeveria e Republikës së Kosovës ; Serb. Vlada Republika Kosovo ) exercises executive power in the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo [1] . The government is composed of ministers and is headed by the prime minister . The seat of government is in Pristina [2] .

Election Procedure
Section 95 of Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo regulates the choice of government:
After the parliamentary elections, the president proposes to the parliament a candidate for the post of prime minister . At the same time, he consults with the party or coalition that won the election. Within fifteen days from this meeting with the president, the candidate must submit to the parliament the composition of the future government. A government is considered elected if it is supported by a simple majority vote of the deputies [3] .
If the represented composition of the government has not received the necessary simple majority of votes in parliament, the procedure is repeated, and the president again proposes, in agreement with the strongest party or coalition, the parliament [4] .
After successful elections, members of the government should take the oath of office in parliament [5] .
Prime Minister
The Prime Minister (Alb. Kryeministri ; Serb. Premijer ) is the Chairman of the Government. Since 2017, he is Ramush Haradinay .
According to the Constitution, the duties of the Prime Minister are:
- represent and lead the government;
- ensure that all ministers act in accordance with public policy;
- ensure the implementation of policies established by the government;
- change of government members;
- Chairmanship of the Kosovo Security Council;
- Appointment of the Head of Kosovo Police;
- advising with the President of the Republic of Kosovo on intelligence matters;
- cooperation with the President of the Republic, joint appointment of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Inspector General of the Intelligence Directorate of Kosovo;
- consultation with the President of the Republic on the foreign policy of the country;
- fulfillment of other tasks set forth in the Constitution and the Law.
