History
On May 20, 1929, the school of hydro-aviation of OSOAVIAHIM was formed in the city of Nikolaev. The school had seaplanes MU-1 and Savoy S-16. On September 11 of this year, students began practical flights, and in November, the first release of 6 pilots took place.
In the summer of 1930, the first production of aircraft mechanics was made .
In the summer of 1931, the school staff was expanded; in 1933, the fleet was replenished with 6 new Sh-2 aircraft.
On January 1, 1935, the school was transferred to the General Directorate of the Northern Sea Route (GU SMP) of the USSR and became known as the Sea Pilot School of the Main Sea Route.
In 1935, the staffing of the school is determined, the position of the cadets is determined. The school has a hydroaidrome on the banks of the river. Southern Bug , land airfields in v. Vodopoy and Slivino.
On August 13, 1938 the school was given the name GSS Levanevsky S.A. (order according to GU SMP №328). On September 2 of this year, the school is transferred under the control of the People's Commissariat of the Navy of the USSR (the order of the State Medical Service No. 349) and became known as the Nikolaev school of sea pilots named after S.A. Levanevskogo . Three weeks later, the school was transformed into an aviation school and became known as the Naval Aviation School. S.A. Levanevskogo .
The school prepared both flight and technical staff for aviation. The release of 1938 was divided between the GU GUF, Polar Aviation GU SMP and Naval Aviation.
January 1, 1939 established the day of the formation of the part (the annual holiday of the school).
In July 1939, a squadron of R-5 aircraft from the Yeisk WMAU was transferred to the school, with a deployment at the Slivino airfield. On September 29, the aircraft repair workshops of the SM NSS (the future 328th Navy aircraft repair plant) were transferred to the school. In October, the school was transferred to the 17th OMRAE Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet, with deployment to hydroair. R. Southern Bug and Ingul. By the end of the year, an observer pilots course, consisting of three AEs, arrived from Yeisk. The number of vocational schools was 2143 people, of which 600 people are cadets.
On June 28, 1941, two squadrons of seaplanes from the Nikolaev WMAU were transferred to Yeysk WMAU, with a dislocation at the aerodrome Yeyskaya Spit. At the same time, these squadrons are formed anew at the Nikolaevsky College, and six training AEs are included.
On July 4, the Nikolaev VMAU was relocated to Berdyansk, in August-September - in s. Bezenchuk Kuybyshev region At this time, the school begins the study of new types of aircraft - Pe-2, Pe-3, IL-2.
On the basis of the Order of the NK Navy No. 0895 in the fall of 1941, from the Nikolaev and Yeisk schools, one squadron of seaplanes facing the formation of a new UMAU in the Astrakhan region is distinguished.
During the war years, a number of combat units were formed on the basis of the school: the 28th and 29th naval bombardment bomber aviation regiments, which later became part of the OMAG RGK , the 25th and 52nd night bomber squadrons of the BF Air Force.
In the spring of 1944, after the liberation of the city of Nikolaev from the German forces, the command of the school flew to the place of the old dislocation, to assess the situation on the spot and the possibility of redeploying the school. Presumably due to an error in the piloting technique, the R-5 crashed, all on board, including head of the school F.A. Morozov - died.
By March 1945, the Nikolaev VMAU was completely relocated to the old place. Training shelves were located on the airfields of Vodopoy, Slivino, Lotskino, Chernobaevka, and in the future: Karagoz, Zasele and Skadovsk.
In 1945, seven training AEs were reorganized into training aviation regiments.
Starting from 1945, the school ceases accelerated training, and in 1946, begins training, in addition to flight crews, photo technicians, communications managers and aircraft mechanics of all specialties.
The main fleet of aircraft in the school remained IL-4, transferred from the combat units of the Navy, worn out and with a developed resource. A big problem for the school at that time was a high accident rate.
In 1952, Il-28 jet aircraft began to arrive. 4 UAP prepared cadets on new machines, 2 continued to train on Tu-2 and IL-4. Three regiments (presumably) were transferred to the formed 93rd VMAU LPO Navy in the Leningrad Region.
Since 1957, the school had a 21st training and flight center, in which helicopter crews were trained.
In November 1959, the Nikolaev VMMTAU was disbanded. At its base, as well as on the basis of the 4th CA and 21st ULC, the 33rd Naval Aviation Training Center is being created.
