Bartlett [1] crypto-tail or Crypturellus bartlett [2] ( lat. Crypturellus bartletti ) is a bird of the Tinamu family living in South America . The bird is named after the ornithologist Edward Bartlett .

Habitat
Bartlett Crypto-tail is found in swamp and lowland forests in subtropical and tropical areas at heights of up to 500 meters. This species is native to western Amazonian Brazil , northern Bolivia, and eastern Peru .
Description
The Bartlett Corytail has a size of about 27 centimeters. The upper parts are brown, the throat and belly are white, the sides are black.
Behavior
Like other chinamos, Bartlett sneaktails feed on fruits from the ground or low shrubs. They also eat invertebrates , flower buds. Males incubate eggs , which can be laid by 4 different females, and then take care of the chicks until they become independent. This usually occurs after 2-3 weeks. The nest is located on the ground in a dense shrub or between the protruding roots of the trees.
