Kortumova mountain (park)

Park "Kortumova Gora" ( Ukrainian park "Kortumova Gora" ) - a park in Lviv ( Ukraine ). It is located in the western part of the city, on the slopes of the mountain of the same name, which is a continuation of the Rastochye massif to the west of the highest point of Lviv - the High Castle ). Kortumova Mountain itself at the highest point reaches a height of 374 meters. It is a geological monument of nature (since 1984 ). [1] The total area of ​​the Kortumova Gora Park is 21.4 ha.

The name comes from the surname of the provincial adviser Ernest Kortum (died in 1811 ), who in his estate laid a garden, which later became part of the Kortumova Gora park.

In 1672 , there was a camp of the hetman D. Doroshenko and his Turkish allies who besieged Lviv.
