Landscape with a red cloud ( Est. Maastik punase pilvega ) - painting by Estonian artist Konrad Mägi . Painted in 1913-1914 in oil on canvas , it measures 55 cm in height and 66.3 cm in width [2] . Stylistically, this picture has some proximity to Fauvism , under the influence of which Myagi was before the start of the First World War after his stay in Paris . This picture is an important milestone in Estonian post-impressionism , it combines local motifs and international art. The landscape with a red cloud is in the collection of the Kumu Museum in Tallinn [3] [4] .

The picture is divided into two zones. In the upper part there is a dark blue sea that foams onto the shore. Above the horizon is a red cloud that stretches upward towards the yellow-orange sky. Lush vegetation is shown in the front of the picture. Trees predominate on the right, in the center a lone tree rises to the sky zone. In the foreground, in particular, right up to the left edge of the image, numerous white and yellow flowers are depicted. In the left part of the picture, at an average height, a cascade of vegetation descends to the sea zone. In the right half of the picture, dark ones prevail, while the left is brighter, and the sky glows with warm tones.
The landscape with the red cloud was one of the paintings that Stephen Farthing included in his book 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die in 2008 [5] . In 2008, Estonian Post issued a postcard depicting a Landscape with a red cloud [6] , and on August 25, 2017 a stamp depicting this painting will be issued [7] .
