Peter Brown ( Dutch: Pieter Braun ; born January 21, 1993 , Terheiden , The Netherlands ) is a Dutch all-around athlete . European Champion in Youth Decathlon ( 2015 ). Champion of the Netherlands. Member of the 2016 Summer Olympics .

Biography
He took his first steps in sports at the club AV Sprint from the city of Breda . In 2012, he set the country's junior decathlon record (7953 points) and first played for the national team in the U20 World Cup . Having lost nearly 900 points to his own achievement, he was content with only 16th place in the competition.
After the first successes, he began to train under the guidance of Vince de Lange at the National Sports Center in Papendal [1] .
He was part of the national team, which took second place in the team standings at the European Cup all-around 2014 .
For the first time in his career, he scored more than 8000 points at the Hypo-Meeting tournament in Austrian Götzis in 2015 - 8197. After a month and a half, he almost repeated this result at the European Youth Championship : with a total of 8195 points, Brown won the competition.
Took 12th place at the 2015 World Cup .
He participated in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he did not continue to compete after four events due to a groin injury [2] .
In 2017, he set several personal records in certain types of decathlon, as well as in their amount. At the tournament in the Austrian Götzis, he took fifth place with the best result in his career, 8334 points [3] . It was not possible to repeat this result after 2.5 months at the World Championship - Brown took only 16th place with a total of 7890 points.
