Gisel Fernández ( Spanish Giselle Fernández ; May 15, 1961 , Mexico City , Mexico ) - American journalist , TV presenter , actress , director and writer . Five-time winner of the Emmy Award and a triple award of the ALMA (1998, 1999) for her journalistic work.

Biography
Fernandez was born in Mexico City , and when she was 4 years old her family emigrated to the United States and settled and was brought to East Los Angeles. Her Catholic father was a flamenco dancer, and her Jewish mother was a student of Mexican folklore [1] . She studied at California State University, Sacramento, where in 1982 she received a bachelor's degree in journalism and government [2] [3] .
Her appearances on network television include reports and guest appearances for the CBS Early Show, CBS Evening News, NBC Today, NBC Nightly News, Access Hollywood and Dancing with the Stars.
In 2002–2014, Giselle was married to the former general director of Panavision, Inc. John Ferrand [4] .
