Rostislav Borisovich Plechko (born January 5, 1989 , St. Petersburg , Russian Federation ) is a Russian professional boxer who performs in the heavy weight category . Among the professionals are the champion of Russia (2017— present ), the Asian champion according to the WBA (2017—2018) in heavyweight.

Biography
Born in St. Petersburg in a family of engineers. At birth, Rostislav was found to have a severe injury to the hip joint . Despite the doctors’s recommendations for urgent surgery, the parents decided to leave their son on their own [3] , and they managed to put the child on its feet. When Rostislav turned 6 years old, he could walk independently, without any special restrictions.
He fulfilled the standard of a candidate for a master of sports in kayaking , becoming the champion of St. Petersburg and making his way to the final of the championship of Russia [4] .
At the age of 14, Rostislav finished rowing, and after 2 years, having entered SPbPU , he began boxing training at the university section [5] .
Amateur career
In the amateur ring, Plechko held several dozen fights and in 2015 became the champion of St. Petersburg in the category of over 91 kg [6] .
Professional career
The professional debut took place on February 27, 2016, in St. Petersburg. His rival was the Russian jornimen Sedrak Agagulyan, who was knocked out at the very beginning of the fight [7] . After that, until the end of the year, Plechko held another 8 fights, in each of which he gained a convincing victory by knockout.
Fight with Evgeny Orlov
On November 12, 2016, Plechko had a fight with his compatriot Evgeny Orlov [8] . Weighing before the battle showed 40 kilograms of Orlov’s advantage. Already in the second half of the 1st round, Plechko knocked the opponent out with blows to the hull, and by the end of the first round, all the same blows to the hull sent Orlov to knock out.
Fight with Bernard Adi
March 25, 2017, in St. Petersburg, Rostislav Plechko had a fight with Kenyan boxer Bernard Adi [9] . Already the first successful strike sent the Kenyan athlete into a deep knockout.
Fight with Vladimir Goncharov
On June 10, 2017, the first defense of the Russian title in the career of Plechko took place. The fight took place at the Floyd Mayweather’s Boxing Academy in Moscow against compatriot Vladimir Goncharov, whom Plechko knocked out in the first round [10] .
Fight with Ibrahim Labaran
On August 26, 2017, Rostislav was supposed to have a duel with experienced Brazilian boxer Laudeline Jose Barrus (39-3, 31KO) , however, the latter could not undergo a physical examination before the duel, and Plechko was forced to look for a new rival. The Brazilian was replaced by the Ghanaian boxer Ibrahim Labaran (14-4, 12KO) [11] , the match with which took place on September 7 in Saratov . The fight ended in a quick victory for the Russian boxer by knockout, and brought him the WBA Asia heavyweight champion title [12] .
