Story
The villain Dr. Doom tried to seize power over the world with an artifact known as the “Infinity Sword,” but Iron Man stopped him. The Infinity Sword was broken during the battle into many fragments, fractals, which fell on the City of Superheroes. To regain the power of the Infinity Sword again, Doctor Doom gathered a huge number of supervillains and founded the Deadly Legion, whose goal was to find all the fractals for him, each of which has a unique power. To thwart Doctor Doom, Iron Man led a team called the Hero Squad, which consists of Falcon , Hulk , Silver Surfer , Thor , Wolverine, and Reptile. The composition is quite inconsistent - periodically other superheroes join them to fight one or another threat.

Comics
The four-part comic book series based on the series was released in the fall of 2009 under the name Marvel Super Hero Squad. The series was successful, and Marvel resumed it in January 2010 as the current series, now entitled: Super Hero Squad. The comic contains not only characters from the series, but also characters outside the show. As of December 8, 2010, Super Hero Squad has released a total of 12 releases. Since then, no new releases have appeared, which seems to indicate that the comic book franchise has been canceled. Trying to get the franchise back, Marvel released the Super Hero Squad Spectacular, in which the Otherworld sends superheroes to another planet with their enemies from the Deadly Legion.
