Biography
Champa was born in 1968 in New Jersey, but grew up in Rome, Italy. She became a model as a teenager. By the age of 18, she was already one of Gianni Versace ’s favorite models [2] . She turned to the Italian film industry in 1986 with various on-screen assignments for directors, including Claude d'Anna (Salome, 1986), Ettore Skola (“Family”, 1987), Massimo Troisi (“Le vie del Signore sono” , 1987) and Damiano Damiani (Il Sole Buio, 1990). At the pinnacle of her career, Champa returned to the United States, starring in Stephen Seagal's film For Justice (1991), followed two years later by The Little Buddha by Bernardo Bertolucci (1993), and then Don Juan DeMarco ( 1994) Jeremy Leven. Later, in the 90s, she mainly worked for television projects, starred in such series as Walker, Texas Ranger, JAG and CSI: Miami [3] . Champa can also be found in Helmut Newton's book Sumo, where he calls it one of his favorite models [3] . She starred in the movie Somewhere (2010) directed by Sofia Coppola.
In 1998, Joe married producer Joseph Farrell (1935–2011). The couple had a son - Sean Farrell (born 2004). On December 7, 2011, Champa's 76-year-old husband passed away.
