Biography
Born November 26, 1921 in the village of Khmelniki (now Pereslavl district , Yaroslavl region ) in a peasant family. After graduating from the 7th grade of a secondary school, he got a job as a forest foreman at a peat enterprise. In the Red Army since March 1943 [1] (according to other sources, since March 1942 [2] ). In the army since April 1943 [1] (according to other sources, since August of the same year [2] ). In 1944 he joined the CPSU (b) [1] .
During the battles for the Vitebsk region from October 1943 to April 1944, Nikolai Sharenkov and his calculation crushed a mortar, anti-tank gun and 10 machine-gun points. Also scattered and destroyed more than one platoon of enemy infantry [1] . On May 14, Nikolai Sharenkov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree [2] .
During the liberation of Belarus in July 1944, with his mortar calculation, he destroyed approximately a platoon of enemy infantry and crushed two machine-gun points. During the liberation of the settlement Bogatceven ( Poland ), during the reflection of two enemy counterattacks, the calculation of Sharenkov suppressed 3 enemy machine-gun points. After the battery commander was wounded, Sharenkov replaced him, after which he repelled two more counterattacks of the enemy. Subsequently, the 152nd fortified area, in which Sharenkov served, was included in the 3rd army . During the battles in East Prussia in February 1945, the calculation of Senior Sergeant Sharenkov destroyed approximately 15 enemy troops and 2 machine-gun points. By order of March 21, 1945, Nikolai Ivanovich Sharenkov was awarded two Orders of Glory of the 2nd degree [1] for the troops of the 31st Army and the 3rd Army. Demobilized in May 1946 [2] .
After demobilization, he returned to his native land, where he got a job as the head of the personnel department for a peat enterprise [1] . In 1973 he moved to the city of Khotkovo (now Sergiev Posad District , Moscow Region ), where he worked as a foreman at the Khotkovo Career Management. On February 5, 1985, the second Order of Glory of the 2nd degree, received by Sharenkov in 1945, was replaced by the Order of Glory of the 1st degree [2] .
He died in 1998 in Khotkovo, was buried here at the Gorbunovsky cemetery [1] .
