Freidenberg, Boris Viktorovich

Boris Viktorovich (Berngard) Freidenberg (until 1850 - after 1917 ) - Russian architect who worked in Moscow in the last quarter of the 19th century . Master of eclecticism and pseudo-Russian style . Beginning in 1874 , was demanded by the Moscow merchants as a builder of business centers. Freudenberg's buildings determine the appearance of Neglinnaya Street and (along with R.I. Klein and V.V. Sherwood ) the business center of Moscow in Kitay-Gorod . The author of such monuments as the Sandunov baths , the first stage of the Museum of Russian Antiquities P.I. Shchukin , the Bakhrushins Hospital on Stromynka .

Biography

He studied first at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture , and since 1876 at the Imperial Academy of Arts . After graduating from the Academy in 1877, he received the title of class artist of architecture of the 3rd degree. For the construction of tenement houses of the “Partnership of the Peter Trade Lines in Moscow” and the design of the City Council building, he was awarded the title of class artist of architecture of the 1st degree. In 1896 he participated in the preparation of Moscow for coronation celebrations, designed Myasnitskaya Street from Lubyanka Square to Red Gate Square .

During the construction of the Sandunov baths ( 1894 - 1895 ), Freidenberg was forced to terminate the contract and leave Moscow due to a conflict with a fabulous customer ( A. N. Ganetskiy ). This ended his extremely successful career; its next construction in Moscow - the Petrovsky passage - took place only in 1902 - 1906 . The building of Sandunov was completed by the assistant of Freidenberg, S. M. Kalugin .

  • 1882-1883 - the ensemble of houses of the Moscow Merchant Society (Pashkov Dvor), Bolshaya Cherkassky Lane , 7 / New Square 8-10,   Central Federal District
  • 1882 - New Lentovsky Entreprise Theater on Theater Square ( Shelaputin Theater ).
  • 1882 - Moscow Trade Bank, Ilyinka 10 (reconstruction of the house of M.F. Kazakov : the house received an eclectic decoration with individual motifs of the Italian Renaissance).
  • 1884 - Moscow Merchant Bank, Ilyinka , 14 (reconstruction of the house of O. I. Beauvais : the building was added, the facade was decorated in eclectic forms with Baroque and classical motifs),   monument of architecture (regional) .

  • 1884–1887, 1890–1892 (or 1887–1895) - Hospital and charity house named after the Bakhrushins brothers , 7 Stromynka Street (together with M.N. Chichagov ),   architectural monument (newly identified object) .
  • 1887-1888 - 21/4 Aleksandrovsk Commercial School , 21/4 Staraya Basmannaya Street (reconstruction of the building of the Konstantinovsky land surveying institute , the former estate of A. B. Kurakin by M. F. Kazakov ),   monument of architecture (regional) .
  • 1887-1889 - apartment building, Ilyinka , 8, p. 1,   Central Federal District
  • 1889-1890 - Volga-Kama Bank (house of the Moscow Merchant Society), Ilyinka , 8 (reconstruction of the house of M.F. Kazakov ),   monument of architecture (regional) .
  • 1890 - apartment building of V.A. Aleksandrov (?), Nikoloyamskaya street , 22, p. 1,   Central Federal District
  • 1891 - apartment building A. G. Tolmacheva, Kamergersky Lane , 1/6 (together with E. S. Yuditsky ),   Central Federal District
  • 1893 - Apartment building Dzhamgarovyh , Kuznetsky Most , 18/7
  • 1894 - house of the chaplain, service and fence of the Anglican Church of St. Andrew , Ascension Lane , 8/5, p. 1 and 5,   monument of architecture (regional) .
  • 1894-1895 - Sandunovsky baths , 14 Neglinnaya Street (left the job without getting along with the customer, the building was completed by S. M. Kalugin with the participation of V. I. Chagin ),   monument of architecture (regional) .
  • 1892-1895 - the "old" building of the Museum of Russian Antiquities P.I. Shchukin (since 1934 - the building of the museum named after K. A. Timiryazev ),   monument of architecture (federal) .
  • 1902-1906 - Petrovsky passage , 10 Petrovka (together with S. M. Kalugin ),   monument of architecture (regional) .
  • 1906 - Martha-Mariinsky Convent , 34 Bolshaya Ordynka (together with A.V. Shchusev and L.V. Stezhensky ) - including the chambers of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna (p. 5, since 2008 - the Elizabethan House Museum Fedorovna [2] ) and Sunday school with the priest’s apartment (p. 7),   architectural monument (federal)
