Biography
Born on April 10 ( April 23 ), 1900 in Moscow. He studied at the Moscow Agricultural School, in the studio of the Korsh Theater (teacher - V.V. Lugsky ). In 1918-1922 he served at the Korsh Theater, in 1922-1929 - at the MGPSS Theater, in 1931-1932 - at the Moscow Art Theater 2nd , where he taught; in the years 1939-1941 at the Central Control Theater . During the war, having refused to evacuate with the theater, he entered the front brigade, and then the First Front Theater of the WTO. In 1945 he was seconded to the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky at the request of the theater's deputy director V.E. Meskheteli . In 1960 he switched to teaching at VGIK . June 15, 1974 retired.
He died on February 15, 1982 . He was buried in Moscow at the Rogozhsky cemetery .
