It is located 7 km southeast of the village of Kamynino , on the left bank of the Bolshoi Chembar River.

History
It was founded in the 1st quarter of the 20th century, by separation from the village of Polyany. From 1923 to 2010, the center of the Verkhnyaya Polyana village council. In 1939 - the board of the collective farm "Red October". In 1955 - the central estate of the Shvernik collective farm. In the 1980s, the central estate of the Red Banner collective farm [2] .
