Geographical position

The village of Mordasovo is located on the Oksko-Don plain on the left bank of the Talovka River, 57 km north-east of the town of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the regional center of Shilovo by road is 70 km.

The village is surrounded by large forests. To the west of it are the tracts of Panika and Litvinovskaya Gora, to the southeast are the quarry and tract of Krupino, to the south are the tracts of Murov-Listya and Goracheva Rechka. The nearest settlements are the village of Rubetskoye , the villages of Maksheevo and Ladyshkino .

Population

According to the 2010 census, the resident population of the village of Mordasovo has not been established.

Name Origin

According to N. Lyubomudrov, the name of the village of Mordasovo indicates the presence of the Finnish population in these places. According to Mikhailovsky local historians I. Zhurkin and B. Katagoshchin, the village got its name by the name of the landowner Mordasov. [2]

History

The village of Mordasovo is first mentioned in salary books for 1676 , where it shows

"The yard of the landowners, peasant 11 yards, 5 yards of Bobyl."

By 1891, according to I.V. Dobrolyubov , the village of Mordasovo belonged to the parish of the Intercession Church of the village of Rubetskoye and there were 18 courtyards in it. [3]

The village of Mordasovo is located near the regional highway P125 : "Ryazhsk - Kasimov - Nizhny Novgorod".
