The main sporting achievements of Lundholm fall on the 1940s. In 1944, he became the champion of Sweden , ahead of the out-of-competition grandmaster P. P. Keres in the tournament and beating him in a personal meeting. Later he actively acted in absentee competitions. Lundholm was the champion of Sweden by correspondence and was part of the national team at the world team championships. In 1983, Lundholm was awarded the title of international master ICCF .
