Biography

Pupil of Lugansk football, the first coach - Boris Vasilyevich Fomichev. Since 1978 he played for the double " Dawn ". The main team debuted on April 27, 1979 in the USSR Championship match against Dynamo Tbilisi , replacing Anatoly Olenev in the 65th minute [1] . In total, before the end of the 1979 season he spent five matches, and Zorya flew out of the Premier League. The next season he continued to play for the team in the first league .

In 1981, he joined the debutant of the major league - Simferopol Tavria . In his first season he played 20 matches and scored one goal, and his team could not stay in the top league. He scored his only goal at the highest level on May 13, 1981 against the Odessa “Chernomorets” goal with a left kick from the central circle, the goal was victorious in the match (1: 0) [2] . In 1982-1983 he continued to play for Tavria in the first league.

In 1984, he was drafted into the army, first to the Odessa SKA , but before the start of the season he moved to Moscow CSKA . As part of the army team he played eight matches at the beginning of the season, and then played for the double before the end of the year. In 1985 he returned to Simferopol and as part of Tavria twice (1985 and 1987) became the champion of the Ukrainian SSR among the teams of the second league. At the end of his career, he again played for the Lugansk "Dawn". At the age of 29, he was seriously injured and ended his playing career.

After graduation, lives in Simferopol, works in the banking sector. Participates in indoor soccer competitions among banking teams.

Game Style

A great defender with excellent physical performance. Unyielding, reliable and positionally literate. He played well with his head, won all the riding balls, and had a powerful blow.

Father, Valery Zavenovich (1939-2017) was also a football player; he played more than 300 matches for Lugansk Zarya.
