Andreichenko, Semyon Semenovich

Semyon Semenovich Andreichenko (born May 22, 1919 in the village of Sofievka (according to other sources - Bratsk ), Yekaterinoslav province , USSR ) - Soviet and Ukrainian sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1960. He worked in the field of easel and monumental sculpture.

Biography

Semyon Andreichenko was born in the Ekaterinoslav province. In 1934 he received a seven-year education in the village of Zaporizhzhya (Sofievsky district) . He recalled that when he was a seven-year student, he did not perform homework in the warm season - there was no time at work. In winter, he was read by “ Kobzar ”, over which he often cried [1] . In 1939 he graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Art College.

A veteran of the Great Patriotic War from November 1943, an artilleryman, was wounded in battle in March 1944. For courage and heroism in April-May 1945 he was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Courage" [2] .

After the war, he continued his studies at the Kiev Art Institute (teachers in the specialty - Mikhail Lysenko and Alexey Oleinik ), which he graduated in 1952. Since 1960 he took part in art exhibitions.

On order, he created a number of monuments to V. Lenin and the fallen soldiers, decorative portraits, statues of workers and collective farmers. The works of Semyon Andreichenko are installed in Ukraine and abroad.

Architectural activities

In 1955, co-authored created a bust of Mikhail Kotsyubinsky , and a year later - Nikolai Schors . In 1960 he made a sculptural portrait of V. Pilipenko, a worker at the Darnitsky Car Repair Plant . He is also the author of sculptural compositions “Creator” (1964), “Unconquered” (1968), “Liberator” (1968), “Forest Song” (1971), “Metallurgist” (1978), “Yaroslavna” (1981); sculptural portraits of Alexander Pushkin (1986), Leonid Bykov (1991), Clement Dominchen (1992), Taras Shevchenko (1994), etc.

In 1959, according to the project of the architect Igor Maslenkov, he created a monument to V.I. Lenin on the square near the Darnitsky Car Repair Plant in Kiev (in February 2014, the monument was dismantled and transported for storage). In 1968 he made a monument to Eternal Glory in Verkhnedneprovsk , and in 1984 - a monument to the dead doctors in Kiev.
