Biography
Rhea Tajiri was born in 1958 in Chicago ( Illinois , USA ) in the family of Playboy photo editor Vincent Tajiri. She graduated from the California Institute of the Arts [1] and worked as a producer in various film and video projects in Los Angeles and New York .
Tajiri has strengthened herself as an important director who requires a deeper understanding of her work and the contexts in which they exist. Her work is becoming more widely recognized and studied, becoming an important part of the curriculum in many documentary and avant-garde cinematographic universities. Her work also helped female filmmakers and female cinema.
Tajiri continues to live and work in Philadelphia . She is currently an assistant professor at Temple University and has taught at Ithaca College, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and SUNY Purchase. [2]
