Ebert Max

Max Ebert ( August 4, 1879 , Stendahl - November 15, 1929 , Berlin ) is a German historian of primitive society , known for his research on the Baltic and southern Russia .

Biography

He studied history of German studies at the universities of Innsbruck , Heidelberg , Halle and Berlin , receiving a doctorate, defending a dissertation on the writing style of Heinrich Heine . In 1906-1914 , he worked as an assistant in the prehistoric department of the Berlin State Museum, participating in excavations in Courland and southern Russia. [3]

In 1922 he worked as a professor of the prehistoric era at the University of Koenigsberg , and at the same time as a professor at the University of Riga (1922-1924). In 1927, he was appointed professor of the prehistoric era at the University of Berlin . [3] [4]
