History
Volleyball in Kyrgyzstan appeared in the early 1930s. Since 1948, various women's teams of the republic (the Frunzensky βAlgaβ, βBurevestnikβ, βGeodesistβ, βBolshevikβ from Przhevalsk, the national team of the Kyrgyz SSR) took part in the championships of the USSR , and regularly only since 1961. Volleyball players of Kyrgyzstan failed to achieve high results. The women's team of the Kyrgyz SSR was invariably among the participants in the volleyball tournaments of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR , in 1956 showing its best result - 9th place. In other spartakiad tournaments, Kyrgyz volleyball players took places in the second ten teams.
After Kyrgyzstan gained independence, the country's volleyball federation joined the FIVB and AKV in 1992 .
For the first time, the women's national team of Kyrgyzstan entered the official international arena only in May 2017, taking part in the Islamic Solidarity Games held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku . The first match against the hostesses of the tournament - the Azerbaijani national team - ended in the defeat of the debutants in three games, and in no sets did the Kyrgyz volleyball players score more than 8 points, and the second game of the match was lost with a score of 3:25. Then the team of Kyrgyzstan lost to the Turkish national team 0: 3, after which it won its first victory in four sets on the team of Tajikistan . In the semifinals, Kyrgyzstan again lost to the Turkish women, and in the match for the βbronzeβ did not leave any chance for the Tajik volleyball players, confidently outplaying them 3-0.
