A ridge of volcanic origin extends over the Limensk valley , descending towards Simeiz , and has three peaks: the upper Pilak (850 m above sea level, this is the southern spur of Ai-Petrinskaya Yayla ), the middle Izmolos (Camel) and the lower Khyr (Turkic “kyr” - elevation, with the same peak with a height of 657 meters).
An ancient Neolithic site was discovered at their foot.
Mount Pilaki is located north-west of the Blue Bay village, just above the old Yalta-Sevastopol highway.
Mount Pilaka is an extinct volcano of the Middle Jurassic period. It covers an area of 4 square kilometers. In rocks, volcanic lava flows frozen over millions of years are represented.
In this mountain range, volcanic tuffs and spilite breccias are common, the weathering of which has formed quaint rocks in many places. The top of the mountain is composed of thick layers of volcanic tuff. It unites with Ai-Petri. Separate outcrops of volcanic rocks Pilaka reach a thickness of 350 meters.
