Hjalmar Peter Tesen ( born Hjalmar Peter Thesen ; born 1925 [2] ) is a fourth-generation South African naturalist writer [3] .

Autobiography
Hjalmar’s father, Charles Wilhelm Thesen , is half English , half Norwegian , mother, George Tesen (Eliza Bessie Georgiana, born in Canada in a Scottish family [3] .
At the end of 1943, Hialmar Tesen received a school certificate in Graiamstown and entered the South African Navy , from where he was later assigned to the Royal Navy of Great Britain and served in the Far East [3] .
After graduating from the University of Cape Town, the future writer began working in the family company, which owned a sawmill and large forest land [3] . Yalmar later married a woman named Judy, but they did not have a home and their uncle lent them a houseboat moored on the and after the wedding this "honeymoon house" was called "Sea Horse" for a year [ 4] . Later, Thesen was named after the family of Judy and Yalmar as the third former naval boat, rescued by captain-lieutenant Steve Eriksen ( Eng. Steve Eriksen ) from the Knysna Sea [4] .
At present, Hialmar, his wife Judy and their children (two sons and two daughters) live in the Republic of South Africa in the town of Knysna, a popular tourist destination [3] . Judging by the readers' feedback on the sites, the author was most famous for the novel “The Dangerous Neighborhood ”, translated into Russian and published in 1997 in the series of books “The Green Series ” created by two publishing houses: Bustard and Alpha Book . All his works describe the life of wild animals full of dangers in the vicinity of the city of Knysna or in South Africa. The author is also well acquainted with the history of South Africa and with the life of African Aborigines, which he often describes in detail in his works.

The most famous work of the writer described in the book of English. National Character in South African English Children's Literature [5] . The book was released on August 31, 1982. It was published in Russian in 1997 in the series of books "The Green Series". This fascinating novel about how a rare black leopard was mutilated by people and was forced to hunt them for survival. The scene of the novel is a neighborhood of the city of Knysna , located in the wild region of indigenous forests and mountain ranges of the Southern Cape.

The book was released on June 30, 1993 [6] . It was published in Russian in 1997 in the series of books "The Green Series". The book tells us the story of a woman named Anna, who, after a serious illness, returns to normal. In parallel with this, we are also immersed in the story of her beloved Friday cat, who got lost in the wild South Africa and returns to Anna.

The book was released in 1991 [6] and reprinted on December 31, 1993. It was published in Russian in 1997 in the series of books "The Green Series". The book tells about the marine inhabitants of South Africa and, in particular, about the holbo slab named Tagged.

NISC AS ) [8] , opened in 1995 at Graiamstown [9] .
Tesen’s records are also kept in the world's largest national library in the United States - the Library of Congress [10] , the library of the African University of Management [11] ( English The Management University of Africa ) and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Children's Literature [12] .
