He lived most of his life in Castile , where he married Maria Perez, the daughter of Pedro Ansures, the lord of Valladolid (1094/1095).
During his frequent and long absences entrusted the management of Urhel Gera II de Cabrera.
He died in Leon on September 14, 1102; allegedly killed by the Moors during their next foray.
