Geographical position
Dugurgunt is located in the northeast of Badakhshan, in the highlands, on the left bank of the Pyanj River , near the state border with Tajikistan , approximately 130 kilometers east-southeast of Faizabad , the administrative center of vilayat. The absolute height is 2727 meters above sea level [1] . The nearest populated areas are Urgunti-Poyon kishlak (upstream of Pyanj), Urup kishlak (downstream of Pyanj).
