Biography
The Molecule Man was a modest technician named Owen Rick in a laboratory that was controlled by Acme Atomic Corp. ( Acme Atomic Corp. ). Owen often complained about the failure of his life and the fact that he was just an “easily replaceable screw” in a spinning wheel of a corporation. Such thoughts distracted from work, and once Rick made a serious mistake that changed his life forever. The atomic machine that Owen worked with irradiated it with radiation. The consequences were unexpected: instead of dying, Rick gained power over the molecular bases of all things.
Without even knowing the name of Owen, the head of the Corporation fired him, but Rick used his power to completely freeze. At that time, the Molecular Man used a wand, believing that it would help him concentrate.
Rick later took control of the Baxter Building, which belonged to the Fantastic Four . Having pulled out an architectural structure from the earth, the mutant could proletit over it over Times Square . Owen announced publicly that he would become the only law in the city. Even the Fantastic Four, which the Observer ( eng. Uatu The Watcher ) asked to stop the latter-day ruler of the world, could not defeat the Human Molecule. Forced to flee, a team of superheroes was trying to find a new plan to solve the problem. Soon, Mr. Fantastic discovered an interesting fact: during the clash with Owen, there was a feeling that he could not control the organic material. Using this observation, the characters turned to the creature's friend, Alicia Masters , to make them look like plaster statues.
Rick again tried to overcome the heroes, but an attempt to influence the molecular basis of organic matter caused severe pain in the mutant. Then, Uatu appeared and captured Owen in another dimension to protect the Earth from its destructive power.
In order to pass the time, Owen got a companion and used all his strength to create a rational being who could be called a son.
Soon, however, Owen discovered that time in his world is accelerating and that day is not far off when he will die of old age. Actually, that's what happened. The named son Rick took the wand of the Human Molecule and realized that all the mutant's power was concentrated in it. Calling himself a new Molecular Man, he uses his wand to flee to Earth and avenge his father. He found the Creature - a member of the Fantastic Four, and tried to overcome it. During the battle, the Creature was able to separate the Human Molecule from the wand and thus put an end to the battle, because, having lost the support of the wand, the son of Owen disintegrated into molecules.
As it turned out, Owen Rick did not die. He was able to transfer his consciousness and strength to the wand that his son delivered to Earth. Every time someone touched a wand, Owen subdued the body of that person and thus resurrected the Human Molecule for a while. The wand passed from hand to hand until it hit the Silver Surfer , which immediately felt its power. The intervention of the alien creature helped Rick's consciousness recreate his body even more powerful than it was. The chance encounter with the Surfer convinced Owen that he always failed in his attempts to reach the goal because of the petty tantrums that were characteristic of him. Inspired by the stories of the Surfer, Owen decided that he would “devour” the Earth in the same way as Galactus did. The surfer sent for help and the Avengers arrived to confront the mutant. The Avengers were easily defeated, because for the Molecular Man it cost nothing to destroy the legendary shield of Captain America , the armor of Iron Man , the hammer of Thor and even the Surfer's board.
In the end, it was Tigra ( English Tigra ) who became the savior of the world, talking to Owen heart to heart and persuading to give up.
Owen Rick went through a course of psychotherapy and soon began to set himself more ordinary goals: true love, strong friendship and a comfortable house. However, a normal life was not given to Molecular Man. He was abducted and sent to the World of Battles ( English Battleworld ) - a planet created by the Otherworld , which is now known as the Creator. Owen became part of a group of superhumans with a criminal past who were to participate in the first of the Secret Wars .
Molecular joined the supervillains only after the convincing speech of Dr. Duma , and went into battle with superheroes, who were also attracted to the World of Battles. During the battle, Owen and Vulcan fell in love. When the Duma managed to steal the forces of the Otherworld, Owen decided that he wanted to "throw" them and threatened Victor with reprisals. However, Doom helped Rick to realize his abilities, explaining that he limits himself to the old inferiority complex. Victor showed Owen what he was really capable of, that his forces were so great that they could subdue organic matter. No longer angry at the Duma (which also lost new strength), Owen transferred himself, Vulcan and many other criminals (along with part of Denver) back to Earth.
On Earth, Owen and Vulcan began a quiet, measured life. Rick got a new job in an atomic corporation. However, their idyll did not last long - the Otherworld returned to Earth to embroil them, and when he failed, he declared that he would destroy the Universe. Owen, united with a group of mutants, tried to destroy the Otherworld, but the enormous power exceeded even the power of Owen, and he was left exhausted. Finally, the flow of the Unnerved's released force, aimed at the destruction of Owen and his allies, tore the Earth's crust and caused strong atmospheric instability. Molecular used his power to close himself and his allies and protect all who could fall under the wave of destruction. The price for this was to be his complete internal devastation.
After that, the Otherworld designed a complex machine capable of turning it into a mortal with the preservation of all its forces. Molecular and his allies found the car and not wanting the Otherworld in the new incarnation to destroy the galaxy once, they decided to kill him while he was reborn. Owen arranged a breakdown in the mechanism, causing the death of the infant, and redirected the enormous power of the Otherworld, released by the mechanism, to the dimension from which it came. Exhausted Molecular Man and the Silver Surfer, combining their abilities, restored all the damage caused to the Earth. Later, Owen said that all his forces had ceased to act again to hide them from other heroes. He returned to a measured life with Vulcan in a suburb of Denver. Among all his allies, only Vulkana and the Silver Surfer knew that Owen still possessed his abilities.
Months later, Owen clashed with the Cube, a creature created in Cosmic Cuba . Cube told Owen that his power had the same roots as the forces of the Otherworld, with whom Cube had always been in conflict and had time to destroy most of his reality. The cube could have destroyed him too, and he almost succeeded, but the newcomer of Shaper of Worlds asked him to stop the battle. Under his leadership, Cube, Molecular and Otherworld realized that they had the same origin, and Molecular with Otherworld united to create a new Cosmic Cuba. Owen mutated into Molecular Man, while the unreleased energy was looking for a way of becoming the Otherworld. The cube was left with the Shaper in space to view the development of the new Cube, which could later produce a creature similar to the Cube.
Vulcana, confident that Owen died while creating Cuba, actually secretly received part of Owen’s power at the moment before the transformation. She tried to pretend that nothing had happened, but soon she noticed in herself strange manifestations of abilities that were supposed to complement the strength of the Molecular.
In the end, Cube separated the essence of Owen from his power, released him and returned to Earth exhausted. The volcano soon stumbled upon it, living in poverty and desolation in its old apartment. He knew that he was deprived of strength, and believed that it was better to hide and live alone than not be able to offer at least something to his beloved woman. Before they could reconcile, the AIM criminal organization, which tracked Vulcan by the manifestations of her abilities, attacked them in the person of her agent Clô. Rhys force allowed her to regain power to Owen. Having become a Human Molecule again, Owen quickly defeated Clos, but Vulkan did not return to him, seeing how he boasted and relies only on his abilities. Owen left her, not hiding love and hoping someday to prove his feelings to Vulcan.
Strengths and abilities
Owen Reese initially had the ability to mentally manipulate molecules, allowing you to create various effects, such as creating force fields, energy rays, and hyperspace portals. However, Reese later gained the ability to change the reality of himself on a multiversal scale. [2]
Initially, he subconsciously imposed upon himself mental blocks that prevented him from affecting organic molecules that had since been overcome. [3] He was also dependent on using a steel rod, which he called a wand to concentrate his forces, but later he learned to direct his forces without him. [four]
When the Molecular Man removed the Beyond from Cosmos, their battle took place in more than three spatial dimensions and threatened to cause a universal scale of destruction. [five]
According to Dr. Duma, Reed Richards, and Owen Reese himself, he is a “multiversal composite entity”: a creature that manifests the “factions” of its entire being in each Marvel Multiverse. [6]
In the previous incarnation of the Marvel / Multiverse Universe, the death of Owen Rees in any given universe would have led to the destruction of this universe in accordance with the deliberate design of the Beyond. [7]

- The Human Molecule appears on The Super Hero Squad Show, voiced by Fred Stoller. He is first mentioned in the episode "Night at Sancorum." In the episode "Villainy Redux Syndrome", Molecule Man and Volkan come to the aid of Doctor Duma , MODOK and Abomination , when MODAN accidently called him instead of Human molecule. He used his abilities to turn the watchtower so that Captain America and Miss Marvel were in oil, which allowed Dr. Duma, MODOK, Abomination, Human Molecule and Volkan to escape. In the episode of Volkan's “When Strikes the Surfer”, “The Human Molecule” makes a mouth for Nebula (whose mouth was removed from her by Thanos “Reality Jam”) while they are in a galactic cafe. Nebula tells the Molecular Man and Volkan that the Dark Surfer causes chaos. Dr. Doom approaches the three villains, stating that they must come together to lure the Dark Surfer into the car of Doctor Doom, who once used the power of the Silver Surfer. The human molecule later joins Dr. Duma in the attack on the Dark Surfer. The Dark Surfer finishes sending the villains to the side of Doctor Doom through the portal.
- "Man-molecule" appears in the animated series "The Avengers, the total collection! "In the episode" Baby-molecule ". Once the "Molecule" paid a visit to the city where it was stopped by the Avengers, the Hawkeye was able to stop him by knocking out a stick, with which he could turn one molecule into another, from his hands. The wand disappeared into the sewer and could not be found. A few years later, the “Molecule” was again spotted in the city and Nick Fury instructed Black Widow to hunt down and select the technology. The widow turns for help to the Falcon's eye with the condition that he will not say anything to Stark. Hawkeye and the Black Widow, pursuing the villain, discover that they are actually pursuing the son of the "Human Molecule" Eron Rick (voiced by Daryl Sabara), who is also haunted by A.I.M. to get a wand. After Eron defeats two agents from AIM, Eron continues to run away from Hawkeye and Black Widow. Suddenly there is a MODAC in the body of the Super Adaptoid and attacks Airon. He is saved by Hawkeye. While Captain America and Falcon are fighting with MODOK, the Widow almost manages to persuade Heron to give up the wand, but Hawkeye breaks in and both of them start arguing about why Eron is angry and releases powerful energy transforming everything around. Suddenly, Stark appears during the skirmish breaks the stick that causes the destruction of reality. In a distorted reality, there is a battle with the Super-Adaptoid; Eron uses fragments of the wand to defeat Adaptoid; the Iron Man helps him. While the rest of the Avengers restrain Adaptoyda Eron manages to return reality to normal. The Avengers destroy Adaptoyda but arrives Nick Fury. He scolds the Widow and Stark and demands a wand. Stark offers Nick to take Erona to Shch.I.T. so that he passed the training program for gifted adolescents (which was also noticed in the animated series The Perfect Spiderman ).
