“Molecular Structure of Nucleic Acids: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid” is the first article to describe the discovery of the double helix of a DNA structure using X-ray diffraction and math helix transformations. It was published by Francis Crick and James D. Watson in the scientific journal Nature on pages 737–738 in volume 171 of April 25, 1953 [1] [2] .

This article is often called the “pearl" of science because it is concise and contains answers to a fundamental riddle about living organisms . This riddle was a question of how it is possible, what genetic instructions are carried out within organisms and how they are passed from generation to generation. The article presents a simple and elegant solution that surprised many biologists, while it was believed that DNA transfer would be more difficult to explain and understand. The discovery had a great influence on biology , especially in the field of genetics , which later allowed researchers to understand the genetic code .
