Content
Composition
The song was written by Kiss guitarist Ace Fraley (along with Sean Delaney ) [1] .
In this song, Ace himself sings (is the lead vocalist), and also plays the guitar and bass [1] .
At the same time, KISS Encyclopedia notes that this is the only track on the 4th side of the Alive II double album, on which Ace plays the guitar, since he did not appear in the studio at the recording session when the other four tracks were recorded (on side 4) [ 1] .
The KISS Encyclopedia calls Rocket Ride a “definitive” Freule song [1] .
Story
According to the KISS Encyclopedia, since this is a KISS song, it is safe to say that the ride (riding) on a rocket ( rocker ride ) put into the name is a vulgar metaphor. Nevertheless, thanks to Ace's “soaring [guitar] stucco molding and [his] unusual voice,” the song simultaneously exudes the spirit of space travel [1] .
Executions
According to the KISS Encyclopedia, the Kiss group rarely played [the song] Rocket Ride at concerts (if at all), but Freyli himself performed it many times during his solo career [1] .
